A provision which allows an originating good to be purchased in a third party (non-FTA) country during an exhibition and imported into an FTA country under preferential treatment. This provision is usually strictly limited to exhibitions and lists several conditions that need to be fulfilled to claim preferential treatment.
This provision is an exception from the provision of territoriality.
Example:
An originating good is temporary exported to a third party country for an exhibition. No further processing is undertaken. The good is exhibited for a couple of days and sold to a client located in an FTA partner country. It is shipped directly from the exhibition to the FTA partner country. At the point of import a certificate of origin issued by the exporter is provided in addition to the customs and transport documentation. A confirmation of the good’s participation in the exhibition may also be required.
